Does the film make sense? Perhaps if you could make it past
the opening credits. However, Adaptations strangeness in no way equates to its
messages not being able to add up. What on earth do we make of the ending of
the film, its drug heists, car chases, murder and learned life lessons, which
work against what Charlie was aiming to achieve in his film? Is Charlie’s
notion preposterous that reality is free of drugs, car chases, murder, or let
us go so far as to say eventful occurrences?
